Motor Bike Weekend July 24-26th

Postponed to July 24-26 Due to Weather

Sorry to say but, due to weather, I am postponing the Motorcycle Weekend and Ride to Rangeley to the following weekend, July 24-26th
Hopefully you all can make it. Same time, same place!!!!!!  BTW there’s also a lot of smoke up here and construction at the Jackson Bridge….hopefully done by next week!  LMK if you’ll be coming up!

And if anyone does come up this weekend (18th) and wants to sneak in a ride between the raindrops LMK.  I’m around!  dottiaiello@aol.com

22nd Annual Skimos Motorcycle Weekend

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone is having a great spring/summer season so far!

The 22nd Annual Skimos Motorcycle Weekend is scheduled for the weekend of July 24th-26th.   To start the weekend off we will be heading to the Shannon Door at opening 4pm!  Get there early to get a seat!!!!  Planning our usual beautiful ride to Rangeley, Maine on Saturday, July 25th, leaving at 9am sharp with a full tank of gas.  Get to the ski house by 830am for photos.  Our ride to Rangeley will definitely include a stop at the “Height of the Land” overlooking Mooselookmeguntic Lake on Rt17.  Lunch will be at the Parkside in Rangeley on the deck overlooking the lake. The rest of the weekend is “play it by ear!”  It’s been a while and I hope to see many of our Skimos’ riders!!!!

Be yourself, everyone else is taken!!!

Celebrating Woody

Helen and Woody

Woody’s 90th Birthday

Heywood Satz “Woody” was born in New York in 1935.

Occasionally even his mother would call him “Woody”.

Woody has been a Skimos member since 1993, and when I met him was skiing using rear-entry boots.

Woody was a genuine rocket scientist working on the propulsion system for Raytheon.

He celebrated his “I was born a day late” 90th birthday on 26-Dec-2025, and his amazing partner Helen Marcus helped celebrated with the Skimos on 2-Jan-2026.

CONGRATULATIONS WOODY!
